A unique piece of mid century art by painter, sculptor and designer Louis Smeyers (1923-2009), who signed with Jean Marie. His work has won multiple prices and is internationally collected. Signed on the lower back.
This terracotta and resin bust with bronze polychrome stands on a black marble foot and the crown of the head lifts of to reveil an open space for visiting carts. It was a bespoke piece made for a gallery and was used as such.
